Mae Among the Stars

I’ve been wanting to check this book out for a while now, and I’m so glad I did! This enchanting and inspiring story is based on the life of Mae Jemison, the first African-American woman to travel into space. As a child, Mae dreamed of seeing Earth from space and becoming an astronaut. Throughout the story, Mae learns that if you work hard enough towards your dream, anything is possible!

One take-away I got from reading this book is how important it is to support our children and their dreams, no matter what they may be. The adults in a child’s life are SO influential. I don’t think we always realize the power and impact that our words can have.
